When I was twelve years old, I came across this quote: "It is an absolute certainty that no one can realize their own worth or perceive a sense of their own beauty until it has been reflected back to them in the mirror of another loving, caring human being." At the time I didn't quite understand it, but thought it sounded pretty, so I wrote it down and kept it tucked away in my diary.

The name Made You Look was originally suggested to me in reference to having had a service done in which the results were head-turning, as in you had "made someone look". Throughout the first incarnation of the business (which ran in Ottawa for 3 years before moving to St. John's) the name took on a deeper meaning: my goal was to help collapse the unrealistic ideal images of beauty that were portrayed in the media and to build new confidence in my clients by bringing out their own natural beauty. I wanted to be the mirror in that quote; to "make them look" and see themselves from a non-judgemental point of view.

Just like the name, you can take the services offered at face value- relax and have a pedicure or come in and have a quick manicure on your lunch break. You also have the choice to go a little deeper and to try some of the chakra-balancing spa services, or even a rejuvenating energy treatment. Either way, I hope to inspire my clients to look beyond the surface and to uncover their hidden potential- not just in their looks but in all aspects of their lives
